A seasoned globetrotter who has visited an impressive 46 countries has revealed the top seven “most beautiful” places she’s encountered. Many of us dream of jetting off to see the world’s wonders, whether it’s for a summer adventure or a more extended journey, and there’s certainly no shortage of stunning destinations to explore.

Some people dedicate their lives to travelling from one place to another, keen to see as many countries as possible. Sam McClendon frequently shares her jet-setting experiences with her followers on TikTok, where she has racked up over 3.7 million likes across a plethora of videos.

In a particularly popular clip, she pieced together footage of what she considers to be the most beautiful locations she’s visited.

Over the top of the footage, she penned: “I’ve travelled to over 46 countries and these are the most beautiful places I’ve been to”.

Banff, Canada

Famed for its breath-taking scenery and tranquil lakes, Banff is a picturesque resort town nestled within the confines of Banff National Park.

The town’s skyline is dominated by the towering peaks of Mount Cascade and Mount Rundle, part of the iconic Rocky Mountains.

Visitors can indulge in a mix of outdoor adventures and leisure activities, with the town offering everything from rugged natural beauty to cosy boutique shops, restaurants, and château-style accommodation.

Merzouga, Morocco

Situated in the Sahara Desert, the quaint town of Merzouga serves as the starting point to the sprawling sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.

One holidaymaker described it as the “best” part of their trip in a TripAdvisor review, writing: “The stars [are] so vivid at night, the camel ride so magical, the beautiful sunrise, the amazing sunset, the sands so clean, untouched and pure.”

La Fortuna, Costa Rica

Those in search of tranquillity and adventure will find themselves spoilt for choice in this beloved town in Costa Rica, which is surrounded by tropical forests and stunning waterfalls.

It offers a plethora of excursions to partake in, too.

It’s the location of the Arenal Volcano National Park, featuring two volcanoes – one active with meandering lava flows – as well as hot springs, forest trails and activities such as fishing, kayaking and more.

Jaipur, India

As the capital of Rajasthan state in India, Jaipur is celebrated for its striking and ornate “pink” architecture, deep-rooted history and rich culture.

The city houses numerous renowned landmarks, including the Govind Dev temple, City Palace, Hawa Mahal and others.

Additionally, it is home to two World Heritage sites – Amer Fort and Jantar Mantar.

Valensole, France

Located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in the southeastern region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, France, this commune is famous for its expansive lavender fields.

These vast stretches of blue, violet and purple hues attract visitors globally and the area enjoys 300 days of sunshine per year.

Positano, Italy

This picturesque spot is an Italian town and municipality located on the Amalfi Coast, situated in the Province of Salerno, Campania, in Italy.

It’s adored for its stunning beaches, boutique shops, wide variety of restaurants, vibrant nightlife and more.

The pastel-coloured houses are nestled into the sides of cliffs, offering dazzling views from every angle. Its winding roads aren’t for the faint-hearted, with numerous steep steps and narrow passageways adding to its charm and appeal.

Phi Phi, Thailand

A beautiful blend of islands in Thailand, the larger ones feature breath-taking white sand beaches, private bays, and incredible views of the shimmering Andaman Sea.

There are also towering limestone cliffs surrounding certain areas, creating a sense of tranquil seclusion amid nature.

There’s plenty to do, with hiking trails, swimming, bars and restaurants, and more to enjoy. There are also snorkelling and diving opportunities to explore the diverse marine life and vibrant coral reefs.
